Eminem To Executive Produce Skylar Grey's Debut Album

Eminem To Executive Produce Skylar Grey's Debut Album
Singer-songwriter Skylar Grey’s debut album, which has been in limbo for over a year, is receiving a helping hand from hip-hop superstar Eminem. The rapper has signed on to executive-produce "Don’t Look Down," which is due out in spring 2013, and will be featured on its first single, "C’mon Let Me Ride."

The new single and its accompanying video, which was filmed last week in Detroit, will be released on Dec. 11. The track is produced by Alex Da Kid, who also worked with Grey on songs like Diddy-Dirty Money’s "Coming Home" and Dr. Dre’s "I Need a Doctor," and whose record label, KIDinaKORNER, is releasing "Don’t Look Down," along with Interscope.

Grey and Eminem previously worked together on "Love The Way You Lie," Em’s Hot 100 chart-topper with Rihanna, which was produced by Alex Da Kid and earned co-writer Grey a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year. Eminem was also featured on Dre’s "I Need a Doctor," which included a hook performed by Grey.

"When I was working on ‘Recovery’ I was introduced to Skylar by Alex Da Kid and I was blown away with her talent as both a songwriter and vocalist," says Eminem in a statement. "This album is really going to give her a chance to connect with the fans who probably know her music, but might not know her yet. I think they will be as impressed as I am."

Grey’s debut album was originally titled "Invinsible" (pronounced ‘invincible’), with a fall 2011 release date. The lead single "Invisible" released in June 2011, and peaked at No. 10 on the Dance/Club Play Songs chart.

Along with scoring writing credits on songs by Lupe Fiasco, B.o.B and T.I. before 2012, Grey was featured on a pair of tracks on Slaughterhouse’s debut album "Welcome To Our House," which was released on Eminem’s Shady Records and Interscope.
